SRVLL 11’s Exit State Tournament After Historic Run
The SRVLL 11U District All-Star team had a lot to follow up on. As 10’s last year, they went all the way, winning the District 57, Section 3, and NorCal State Championship—an accomplishment not done by SRVLL in 20 years. It was a lofty goal to repeat winning state this year, but the 11’s went for it.
Across their two summers competing in Little League International tournaments, this SRVLL age group went on an unprecedented 18-0 run (11-0 last year, 7-0 this year)—making history as the longest All-Stars winning streak ever for SRVLL and one of the longest in recorded U.S. Little League history. This earned them their way back to the NorCal state tournament for a second year in a row, but they ultimately fell to a gritty Madera American Little League and a talented Willow Glen Little League team.
Along the way, however, the SRVLL 11’s repeated as both District 57 champions—toppling a challenging Bollinger Canyon Little League—and Section 3 champions—besting the peninsula powerhouse, San Mateo National. Making it all the more special, SRVLL hosted both tournaments at Los Cerros, allowing the team to play in packed house games and share their success with family, friends, and the Danville/Alamo community.

The back-to-back District and Section titles are also another historic achievement for the 11U All-Stars. No single SRVLL age group has ever repeated championships in subsequent years, and they are the first SRVLL team to repeat championships across any age group since 1993. The wins also mark the 30th District championship and 18th Section championship in the league’s 66-year history.
While the effort by the players on the field is what made this memorable run possible, it would be remiss to not recognize the coaches, volunteers, and families who supported them along the way.
This year’s staff—consisting of Manager Leonard Hall and coaches Greg Isom and Matt Purkiss—and last year’s staff—which also included Manager Gus Panagotacos and coach John Audino—put in countless hours of practice, strategizing, and leadership over the last two years, frequently setting aside their other responsibilities for the betterment of the team.
Off the field, the spirited involvement of this team’s families made every game feel special, from the field crew of dads who kept the diamond looking pristine to the moms who coordinated unforgettable social outings and led cheers across every inning. The parents, grandparents, and friends of the 11’s team—adoringly referred to by the players as their “fan base”—could always be counted on to pack the stands every game in a sea of orange and blue and fill the air with frequent and thunderous “S-R-V!” chants.

A successful All-Star run requires effort, support, and encouragement from every angle, including the players, coaches, families, league, and community. Thank you all for creating this unbelievable streak of SRVLL baseball, and while all runs come to a close, this age group is looking forward to next year as 12 year olds and starting a new run: to Little League World Series in Williamsport.
