Parent Code of Conduct
San Ramon Valley Little League exists to provide a positive place for youth to enjoy the sport of Baseball. We do this while giving them the opportunity to experience the principles of good sportsmanship, determination, self-confidence, friendship, and respect.
As a parent, you want the best for your child. Please remember that your own behavior is a big factor in your child’s success and their ability to enjoy their experience with SRVLL. Therefore, we ask for your assistance by abiding by the following principles:
I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.
I will be a positive role model for my child and encourage positive sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game or practice (even the other team!).
I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
I will teach my child that their own effort is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.
I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard.
I will not engage in any kind of negative conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.
I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question or confront coaches at the game field in front of players. If there is an issue that needs to be addressed, I will communicate with the team’s coach in a calm and respectful manner.
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.
