Astros Hold On in Epic Clash to Win Majors Title
The Astros hoist their trophies after winning the 2025 SRVLL/TVLL Majors championship, 5-4
In front of a full capacity crowd, the Astros ousted the Yankees 5-4 on Wednesday at Los Cerros Middle School to win the 2025 SRVLL/TVLL Majors championship. The victory capped off an impressive 18-4 season for the Astros roster, which includes players Austin K, Blake A, Bradley Cheng, Brady Bass, Giorgio M, Hunter E, Jack R, Lucas M, Mason H, Royce C, Trevor L, and Trevor S, as well as head coach Leonard H and assistant coaches Jake A and John M.
The Yankees were the first to get on the board in the first when Jackson A singled, scoring one run. But the Astros immediately responded and made the score 3-1 in the bottom of the first after Giorgio M doubled, scoring two runs, and then stealing home himself on a passed ball.
The Yankees tied the game at three in the top of the second thanks to a single by Connor A, scoring Clayton K. But once again the Astros responded, this time in the bottom of the fourth inning after Bradley C singled to center field scoring Lucas M, and then crossing the plate on a wild pitch to make it 5-3.
The Yankees brought it to within one run in the top of the fifth with an RBI fielder’s choice by Alex V, but Astros reliever Blake A kept their comeback at bay. The righty tallied five strikeouts in two shutout innings pitched, including the game-winning punch out to end a 1-2-3 top of the sixth.

Mason H opened the game on the mound for Astros The starter went four innings, striking out eight and walking two. Diego B started on the hill for Yankees. The hurler lasted over four innings, striking out six and walking three.
Giorgio provided pop in the middle of the Astros lineup with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Trevor S, Mason, Bradley, Lucas M, and Giorgio each collected one hit for Astros, as well.
Congratulations to both the Astros and Yankees on their successful seasons. With this win, the Astros continue on to the District 57 Tournament of Champions, where they play the Majors champions of the other seven local leagues within the district. Their first game is this Saturday in Danville at Osage Park.
